Go with Kaspersky.Try it but be aware of the fact that without 512MB of RAM or even 1GB you will have a really slow computer with it for some time-it take it some time to get used to your files and your habits.I’ve been using Kaspersky since version 4.5 and I had no virus problems at all.Also..try combining this with an anti-spyware software like Ad-Aware-not because it’s protection isn’t powerful enough but because using an antispyware program improves the PC’s security.
I use Microsoft Live OneCare. It not only catches viruses, but it’ll perform automatic back-up and “tune-up” (defrag, etc.) your computer on an as-scheduled basis. It cost about $50 a year.

Kapersky Internet Security 2009
Avast 4.8 Pro seems to be the best. I had Norton 360, and I have found out that it too was slowing my computer down. I have heard of McAfee to being fairly well. Just check things out before you deal with anything.
Mcafee Or Avast.
Eset Is “Slow”.
Vipre Is Generic.
Kaspersky Is Crapersky.
Avira has A Lot Of h False Positives.
kaspersky followed by Eset.
There is a lot of debate about what is “best” – but we encourage you to try out a new Internet security suite that includes antivirus, anti-spam and firewall. You can always try F-Secure Internet Security 2010, free for 30 days at http://www.f-secure.com
You definitely need an updated Internet security suite, but don’t forget to also keep your Windows software updated http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/. In addition, you’ve got to make sure that all of your programs — including Adobe Acrobat Reader, Flash, iTunes, Quicktime and RealPlayer– are patched and protected. This is usually a complicated and time-consuming process, but our Health Check makes it easy http://www.f-secure.com/en_US/security/security-center/health-check/ Internet Explorer only.
