What is the best malware/spyware security software available today?

by admin on March 10, 2010

I use Norton for general virus protection, but a malicious downloader spyware snuck through, and got Ad-Aware on top of the Norton protection for added spyware security. Are these good? Are there better products?

The newest version of Adaware has been receiving complaints. Try using Superantispyware for your spyware scans and you can also use SpywareBlaster to help block spyware before it installs. Both products are free.

SpywareBlaster (inoculates, not a spyware removal tool)

I’m not a big fan of Norton, but I won’t bad-mouth it.
Ad-Aware however is a different story; it’s about useless. I’ve never seen any of the free Ad-Aware versions find anything other than cookies and MRUs, and the newest free version, Ad-Aware 2007 is a resource hog (yes, an *on-demand* antispy that gobbles resources unnecessarily.)

I would axe that Ad-Aware in a second and replace it with any or all of the following, particularly Superantispyware.

Never trust an internet based software. Alot of time they do more harm than good. Panda included. Use Norton or McAfee. Both have great firewalls, Spyware, Adware and Email scanning skills.

A friend of mine used Adaware and it took me a whole 20 minutes to get it off of his system. He had a slow PC, Intell dual core. Once we swapped his Mother board to an AMD, he was flyin.
